Shrimp & Petroleum Festival in Morgan City Runs Through Labor Day
If you want to do something fun for Labor Day and just haven't found anything yet, may I suggest the Louisiana Shrimp & Petroleum Festival in Morgan City?
Usually, festivals that have been around for over 70 years kind of know what they're doing by now.
This festival is truly a family-friendly event. There's a children's village, tons of arts and crafts, great food and fantastic live music.
Monday's music line-up rolls as follows:
1:00pm-2:30pm Louisiana Roadhouse
3:00pm-4:30pm Déjà Vu
5:00pm-6:30pm South 70
7:00pm-9:00pm Chubby Carrier/Amanda Shaw
While you're there you can also take a guided tour of "Mr. Charlie", an authentic drilling rig. It's the only place in the world where the general public can walk aboard an authentic offshore drilling rig.
