On a personal level, it's got to be a bittersweet feeling. On a spiritual level, I bet there aren't words to describe how Steve Horn, the soon to be former Pastor of Lafayette's First Baptist Church must be feeling.

Pastor Horn was unanimously elected by the Louisiana Baptist Convention Board to become that body's executive director yesterday. This means that Pastor Horn will be leaving the position he's held in Lafayette for the past 14 years to assume his new role in the church at the beginning of July.

Pastor Horn will be succeeding David Hankins who is set to retire from the Executive Director's position on June 30th. Hankins has been serving Louisiana Baptists since 2005. Which ironically is the same year that Pastor Steve Horn was called to begin his service with First Baptist in Lafayette.

Before being called to minister in Lafayette Horn led congregations in Livingston, Natalbany, and most recently in New Iberia. Pastor Horn's last scheduled service at First Baptist Lafayette will be May 19th.
