LOUISIANA - While it may feel like summer with heat indices over 100, it's not quite official yet. (The first day of summer technically begins on June 21, but who's counting.) Of course, that doesn't stop us from planning for a good summer country concert.

And there are quite a few options. Between the end of June and mid-September, there are about a dozen solid shows for you to choose from.

A Note on Casino Shows vs. Family-Friendly Venues

Do keep in mind that many of these shows are at area casinos, so the little ones won't be able to join the fun. However, there are some festivals and other venues that the whole family can enjoy.

What's Coming This Fall: Brooks & Dunn, Zach Top, and More

Later in the year, up and down I-10, everyone will have a chance to catch some major tours come through town. Brooks & Dunn and Zach Top are coming to the Cajundome in Lafayette in October, while Raising Cane's River Center in Baton Rouge is hosting Gavin Adcock, Corey Kent, Ty Myers, and others. Plus, other yet-to-be-announced tours are heading to South Louisiana.
