Suspect Taken Into Custody In Lafayette Murder
According to Lafayette Police Department Spokesman Sergeant Wayne Griffin, via press release, they have now arrested their suspect in a shooting death that happened on the night of Friday, September 19.
Griffin says that the suspect is 17-years-old so they can't release his identity.
Both the Middle and Western Districts' Marshal's Violent Offender Task Force teamed up to help facilitate this arrest.
Griffin says that on that Friday, there was a shooting reported at a convenience store in the 800 block of North University Avenue. Apparently one person had been shot multiple times.
While medical aid was rendered to the victim, the person succumbed to his injuries later at a Lafayette hospital. The victim had been shot in his upper body.
The sergeant says this is still ongoing investigation at this time.
