Big Kenny of Big and Rich is recognized for many things, including his musical talent alongside duo partner John Rich, his knack for songwriting, and his generous heart. Now, he can one more thing onto that list thanks to the Tennessee State Museum.
In 'Party Like Cowboyz,' Big and Rich once again become the wild-eyed, brash, cowboy rockers that originally attracted so many fans to their diesel-powered style when they debuted in 2003. No one is going to accuse John Rich and Big Kenny of excessive versatility, but they do what they do with genuine conviction and passion.
Big and Rich are back at country radio with a beautiful new song, ‘That’s Why I Pray,’ with powerful lyrics. Some of Nashville’s finest writers are responsible for penning the tune — Sarah Buxton, Danelle Leverett and Blair Daly.
Bon Jovi are no strangers to country music, having scored a No. 1 hit in the genre with their Jennifer Nettles-assisted version of ‘Who Says You Can’t Go Home’ back in 2006. So it’s not a huge surprise to see that guitarist Richie Sambora is working with country duo Big and Rich. So we guess that means we can call them “Big and Richie,” if only for a song?
With the exception of their submission to the ‘Footloose’ soundtrack, Big and Rich have just released their first new single since 2007. Both members of the duo have found some success as solo artists, but ‘That’s Why I Pray’ serves as a reminder of how much Big Kenny Alphin and John Rich need each other.
