Some good news for those in Louisiana who are ready for cooler days and much cooler nights.

A strong cool front could be on the horizon for many in the Deep South as we get into the month of September.

Two of Acadiana's top meteorologists have been indirectly sparring over a forecast involving cooler temps. But did one of them just get the last laugh?

KATC Meteorologist Bradley Benoit says that a fall cold front, and our first real shot at some cooler weather, will push through Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

There's a heat advisory here in Acadiana, but by this time next week, we may be looking to break out the gumbo pots. The latest 10-day weather forecast shows a possible cool-front hitting South Louisiana, with temperatures possibly dropping below 70 degrees.

An approaching cold front should answer Acadiana's prayers for cooler weather early next week.

South Louisiana Labor Day fun should not have an issue with the weather as lower humidities are on the way.
