An attempted traffic stop in Maurice on Thursday (Mar. 16) resulted in a high-speed chase that ended in a multi-vehicle crash on Johnston Street in Lafayette.
Footage from a helicopter, dashboard cams, and body cameras of officers showed multiple carjackings, shootouts, and crashes as the man attempted to run.
Reports are saying that an arrest has been made following the pursuit of a stolen ambulance down I-10 West. Both Lafayette and Duson Police Departments were involved in the pursuit, with the chase ending in Crowley.
I was scrolling through YouTube today, and stumbled across this video posted in June of last year. YouTuber cadcTV has it titled as "Craziest Police Chase Moment Captured in Lafayette Louisiana!!" and after watching it, I can't help but agree.
You would think doing 52 in a 35 speed zone would get you a great big ol' ticket. Watch the fowl play that occurs when this traffic cop attempts to reel in the law breaker. It just goes to show you that policemen are human too.
Here is video of a police chase that went terribly wrong for one of the good guys. It just goes to show you how difficult and demanding police work can be.
There is no more gripping human drama than the images captured during a high speed police pursuit. In this particular instance the suspect has stolen an 18 wheeler loaded with lumber.
