Now that the 2025-2026 school year is in full swing in Lafayette Parish, the next thoughts are "When are kids out of school?"

Public school students in Vernon Parish will only be going to school for four days a week starting next school year.

The Lafayette Parish School System is looking to tweak its school calendar for next year.

School begins nice and early on August 8, 2018. And the last day of the school year will be May 23, 2019.
