Taylor Swift Headlining Pre-Super Bowl Party: New Music Coming Soon?
Before Lady Gaga takes the stage as Super Bowl 51's official halftime performer, Taylor Swift will make sure the crowd at Houston is ready to party.
Swift will headline the DIRECTV Super Saturday Night on Saturday, February 4, AT&T announced today (October 4). The gig is part of a larger deal with Swift's new 10-year contract with the service provider, which will include exclusive performances and content for the next ten years.
"We're thrilled to reach a deal to bring Taylor and her unique talents to her fans and our customers in new and exclusive ways," said AT&T Entertainment Group CEO John Stankey. "We’re excited to get event tickets into the hands of Taylor’s fans."
AT&T adds it has erected a 64,000 square foot venue just for the event. Past Super Saturday Night performers include Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake, Jay Z and Beyonce.
Some fans got the impression that T. Swift's big news means there must be new music on the way. Swift's last album, 1989, dropped in 2014 and spawned three No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 singles. It also won the Grammy for Album of the Year, and made Swift the only woman to ever have won the award twice.
