The Dawg’s ABCs of Cancer with St. Jude
The ABC's of Cancer. This is really what cancer is about. The ABC's allow us to see what cancer is like through the thoughts of the children and teenagers at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The best part about it all is that they are so positive. Because St. Jude is a happy place and they make sure to put a smile on every child's face.
Here are 97.3 The Dawg's ABC's of Cancer:
D: 'Dios Vendiga al Senor (God Bless the Lord) Danny Thomas'
A: 'A is for Alive: I am so thankful to be Alive...Thank you St. Jude' (Asia)
W: 'W is for Wishing'
G is for God's Great Gifts at St. Jude'
The ABC's of Cancer are proudly displayed on one of the prominent walls in the hospital. It was created by the patients to speak their minds and express how they feel about their condition. The children pick a letter and have the opportunity to write a thought, poem, idea, etc. The ABC's are done every so often or when a patient decides that they would like to redo one of the letters.
'Trying to describe the ABC's of Cancer is like trying to explain St. Jude to a person who has never stepped inside the hospital. Once you see it, once you visit, your heart can never be the same.' I couldn't have said it any better myself.
