The 26th season of The Simpsons aired last night on Fox and leading up to it the tease was that a character was going to be killed off.

With the title of the episode "Clown in the Dumps", most thought Krusty the Clown would be biting the dust.

Turns out that was close, but not quite right. It ended up being Krusty's father, Rabbi Hyman Krustofski, who would wake up dead.

In the middle of a conversation with his depressed son, the good Rabbi died in his office chair.

So sad!

To make matters worse, Krusty was seeking validation from his dad at the time of his death after being brutally roasted by comedians Jeff Ross and Sarah Silverman.

Rabbi Krustofski was voiced by 83-year-old comedian Jackie Mason, who voiced the character since he debuted in season three back in 1991. He even won a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Voice-Over Performance for his work in that episode.
