Sports and chicken wings go together like peas and carrots. There is nothing that healthy about this buffalo chicken dip, but it's a crowd-pleaser. One special ingredient makes it perfect for tonight's LSU Baseball semifinal game in the College World Series.

This is a unique recipe that is actually cooked on the stove and can be served either hot or cold. At my house, we like this cold with Fritos Scoops or, if you want a healthier option, celery and pepper slices.

  • 1 block cream cheese
  • 1 cup buffalo sauce

Combine all ingredients in a pot and warn on low to medium heat. Add milk as needed to get the consistency that you want. Serve warm or refrigerate overnight and serve at game time.

Buffalo wings -- outside of sport -- have a flavorful history that originated in Buffalo, NY, during the 1960s at a restaurant called Anchor Bar. Teressa and Frank Bellissimo created the wings that we know and love. One night, looking to whip up something special for their friends, they decided to fry chicken wings and coat them in a zesty sauce made from melted butter and hot pepper.

The wings were an instant hit! Word spread fast, and soon people from all around were flocking to try them. The popularity of buffalo wings soared, and they became a staple at sports events, parties, and restaurants. We thank them for this creation!
