Part of the job of parenting is to offer new and exciting experiences to your children. My wife and I work really hard to be able to take our kids interesting places or put them in situations that we believe will help them make better choices in life.

The TV show Toddlers and Tiaras is one that I simply can not wrap my mind around. This show scares me. I am not a pageant hater. I understand pageants are a great way for young women to develop poise and social grace and earn money for education. All of those concepts are good ones if you ask me.

This exploitation of children for the benefit of ratings, vicarious thrills or just because you can is not right. How does a TV show like this stay on the air? Obviously because people are watching it.

If you have a good argument why Toddlers and Tiaras is quality TV or why children's pageants such as this are a good idea please enlighten me. I would really like to hear your point of view because quite frankly I just don't get it.
