If you travel Interstate 10 between Lafayette and Crowley in Acadia Parish or between Crowley and Kaplan you might want to choose an alternate route. Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development say there will be several lane closures on the major traffic artery during the day today.

The reasons for the lane closures are bridge maintenance and repair. The lane closures will be in alternating directions so it's hard to say exactly when what part of the road will be affected and when.

What we do know is that travelers should plan for delays around LA Highway 95, that's the Duson Exit. Also, the overpass over LA Highway 98 will experience lane closures today. The East Crowley Exit for LA Highway 1111 will also have lane closures you'll have to contend with.

You can also expect slow traffic and congestion traveling from Crowley to Kaplan via Highway 13. DOTD says the  LA 13 Bridge over Bayou Queue de Tortue at the Acadia/Vermilion Parish line will also have alternating lane closures in the east and westbound directions for bridge repairs.

Transportation officials say that these alternating lane closures will continue from today ( Jan. 30, 2018) through February 6, 2018.
