It's a Boy! As expected, tropical depression #1 has become a named storm. Tropical storm Aurthur currently sits near the coast of Florida and will hold there today. Arthur is expected to gradually move northeast along the Atlantic Coast.

From the Storm Team 3 Weather Lab -

"While in a relatively unfavorable area for development because of strong upper level winds, those atmospheric conditions are expected to become more favorable over the next day or so. Therefore strengthening is forecast and a gradual movement toward the north is expected to take place later today. Wednesday into Thursday some intensification is probable and the National Hurricane Center brings Arthur to hurricane status as it passes the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

After that, Arthur is expected to remain a hurricane as it passes east of the New England coast on the 4th of July and eventually dissipating over the northern Atlantic later this weekend."
