Two Arrested After Toddler Found Wandering In Casino Parking Lot
The mother of a three-year-old child and her boyfriend have been arrested and charged in Jeff Davis Parish after an incident Wednesday night. Police say the child's mother and her companion left the toddler unattended while they enjoyed drinks and dinner inside a Jeff Davis Parish casino.
Jeff Davis Parish Sherrif's deputies received a call from a security guard a Peto's Travel Center in Roanoake shortly after 6 pm on Wednesday. The security officer told the deputies he had discovered the child wandering around the casino parking lot alone.
The child's mother and her companion were taken into custody and the toddler was placed into the protective custody of agents of the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services.
30-year-old Jessica Gail Morgan, and her boyfriend, 30-year-old Aaron Michael Pittman, both of Cypress, Texas were charged with cruelty to a juvenile. They remain in custody in the Jeff Davis Parish Jail. At this time no bond has been set for the couple.
