We never like sharing news of local businesses closing in Lafayette, Louisiana, but unfortunately, here we are again with two more establishments having to make the heartbreaking news.

Each business took to its social media channels to announce that they are no longer in business.

Zero Degrees, an Asian-Hispanic fusion fast-food restaurant that specializes in high-quality drinks and snacks, has announced its closure.

The restaurant was located at 114 Meadow Farm Road, Suite #110 in the Ambassador Town Center in Lafayette. (Very near the roundabout at the intersection of Old Camp Rd and Meadow Farm Dr.)

As you can see in the post above, Zero Degrees will close at the end of the month. The business opened in that location nearly four years ago.

The other business to announce its closure is the short-lived sushi and hibachi restaurant, Sawa.

The restaurant just opened its doors in Lafayette on June 12, and now they appear to be finished.

The all-you-can-eat sushi and live hibachi spot was located at 4702 Johnston Street in Lafayette. (This is the former Dozo restaurant location.)

A Facebook post on September 8 stated that they were closing temporarily to undergo maintenance and staff training. Then, this past weekend, another post announced the restaurant's permanent closure.

As mentioned in the above post, it appears that all of the partners were not on the same page and had other ventures they'd like to focus on.

The good news for patrons who have any gift cards to the restaurant can use those at Tokyo Japan Carencro, as it is owned by at least one of the partners of Sawa.

We hate to see any local businesses close but we do wish the owners of each of these establishments the best of luck in their next ventures.
