Two More Louisiana Singers Head to Hollywood on ‘American Idol’ Including a Familiar Face
Two more singers from Louisiana are heading to Hollywood on American Idol.
Last week, Florien's Tyler Mitchell punched his ticket and last night, he gained some company from his home state.
Ashton Gill from Livingston got her Golden Ticket after a smooth and soft rendition of Chris Stapleton's "Broken Halos".
But, it was her guitar player that turned the heads of the judges. That guitarist was her friend Laine Hardy, who himself was a contestant on the singing show last season.
Laine made it to Hollywood but fell just short of the top 28. Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie wanted to hear how things have progressed for the singer and they asked him to "sing them out."
And boy did he ever! He sang The Band's song "The Weight" and just nailed it. It was so good, the judges offered him another Golden Ticket to Hollywood.
After some deliberation, Laine accepted.
Here's out it all went down.
