Next week, June 7-10, is the 46th anniversary of country music's biggest and most famous festival. CMA Music Fest in Nashville started out in 1972 as Fan Fair, and it will always be Fan Fair at my house! This will be my 26th festival, and I can't even tell you how excited I am about it. Some of the elements remain the same, but most have evolved into the slick gathering that is now all over downtown Nashville, as opposed to just the Tennessee State fairgrounds.

Over 400 performances on dozens of stages, Fan Club parties, charity events, autograph sessions, and star sightings all make up a week filled with the country music that we love. 350,000 people are expected to attend, from over 40 countries, and every state in America. it is a party for sure! Check out the vintage video from Fan Fair 1994 below. What a hoot! And FYI,  Acadiana's own Joe-El Sonnier even makes an appearance around the 54 minute mark. And if you haven't ever been to this party, you really should go. It's amazing, and I wouldn't miss it for the world.below.
