Walmart Frozen Pasta Recalled Over Listeria Concerns
LOUISIANA - A frozen pasta product sold at Walmart stores across the country has been recalled because it could potentially be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
That means shoppers in Louisiana and around Acadiana could potentially have the recalled product sitting in their freezers right now.

Which Walmart Pasta Has Been Recalled?
The recall involves Bettergoods Authentic Italian Lemon Alfredo Fettuccine, a frozen pasta meal sold in a 22-ounce yellow plastic package.
The FDA says Gias Foods, Inc. recalled two specific lots after routine testing by agriculture officials in Washington and Florida indicated that the finished product could contain Listeria. The company has stopped distributing the affected pasta while the investigation continues.

What Is Listeria?
Listeria is a type of bacteria that can cause a foodborne illness called listeriosis.
An infection can cause symptoms such as fever, headache, nausea, stomach pain and diarrhea. However, Listeria infections can become much more serious for older adults, young children and people with weakened immune systems.
Pregnant women also face particular risks from Listeria infections, including potentially serious pregnancy complications.

No Illnesses Have Been Reported
Thankfully, no illnesses had been reported in connection with this particular recall when the FDA posted the notice.
f you find one of the affected packages hiding in your freezer, don't eat it.
The FDA says consumers who purchased the recalled lots should return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.
