The website that is handling applications for front line workers in Louisiana to receive a one-time payment from the state had a major issue today.

According to officials with the Louisiana Department of Revenue via a press release statement, 14,000 applications were accepted before there was a connectivity issue that brought the application process to a halt today.

The following people are eligible for a one-time $250 check from the state of Louisiana:

  • Essential workers
  • Front line workers
  • Healthcare professionals

The website for the program, FrontlineWorkers.la.gov began taking applications just after midnight this morning, but what officials say was a connectivity issue has left the system unable to handle any more claims.

Several of the various website sections that are needed for general purposes related to tax information have also been affected.

Officials with the Department of Revenue say the Louisiana Office of Technology is working to fix the issue.
