Winter Storm to Hit Lafayette Hard, Temps Even Lower Than Expected
7 to 9 days ago, forecasters knew the weather in Lafayette and Acadiana would be changing but there were differing opinions as to just how much. Even the weather models were confused. With the beginnings of the coldest winter storm to hit Acadiana in quite some time now here, forecasters have a better idea of just how low the temperatures will fall.

Saturday/Night (February 13, 2021): Showers possible late. Low 32 degrees. Winds NNE 15 mph at times. Chance of rain 40%.
Sunday, February 14, 2021: Showers early with freezing rain possible. High 38 degrees. Winds NNE at near 15 mph at times. Chance of rain 50%.
Sunday/Night (February 13, 2021): Cloudy with freezing rain after midnight. Low 26 degrees. Winds N 20 mph at times. Chance of rain 60%.
Monday/Day (February 15, 2021): Winter storm. Freezing rain expected early. High 30 degrees. Winds NNW 20 mph at times Chance of rain 90%.
