We've had a tough year, America. And it's not even over yet. But there is a small ray of sunshine right here in the state of Louisiana that could make you smile, even during hurricane season.

Barn Hill Preserve, which is located in East Felciana Parish along Hwy 19, is an animal sanctuary that also has another location in the state of Delaware. At Barn Hill they have an amazing array of exotic and wild animals, and are known for their educational animal programs. The regularly sponsor animal encounter tours, otter swim tours, and in the month of September, they will hold a "Sips with Sloths" program. This is sure to become a popular annual event, and frankly, something we could really use in 2020!

Guests, who have to be 21 or older, will have the opportunity to stroll on a self guided tour throughout the preserve as they sample wines from around the world. The animal ambassadors, which include the two toed sloth, will be available to interact with guests during the designated times.

All of the events will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and the dates are below:

  • Friday, September 18
  • Saturday, September 19
  • Friday, September 25
  • Saturday, September 26

Tickets, which include wine samples, are $54.72 each, and must be purchased in advance. ID's will be checked at the door, and all CDC guidelines will be followed to keep guests and employees safe during the event. If you go, we'd love to see some pictures!
