It is just about time for we the people to let our voices be heard. For the past year and half we have been listening to the voices of candidates, political action committees, celebrities, and political pundits tell us who we should vote for. November 4th it will be our turn to have a voice. Judging by the latest statistics released by the Secretary of State's office almost 3 million of us want to be heard.

The latest report said 2.9 million voters had signed up to cast a ballot on November 4th. What makes this total very interesting is the fact that nearly 93-thousand more people voters registered as "no-party" voters compared to the last time there was a Senate election involving Mary Landrieu.

Political analyst Eliot Stonecipher told the Louisiana Radio Network that these voters represent a huge "X-factor" in the upcoming election.

"These are people who are very disaffective with both the Democrat and Republican party, I don't know what that means for the upcoming election."

The report from the Secretary of State's office showed that there were 919,00 black voters registered for the November election compared to 1.8 million white voters.  While Landrieu has certainly been supported by the black vote in previous elections, many political analyst believe that she will need to do much better with white voters if she hopes to maintain her seat in the United States Senate.

Bernie Pinsonat explained to the Louisiana Radio Network his thoughts on the racial breakdown of voters in the Senate election,

"Will the black turnout be huge in Louisiana and give Mary Landrieu a lift? It's possible, but not likely.  She can't win this election, unless she does much better with white voters than she's presently doing,"

Early voting for the November 4th election is currently underway across the state.
