If you want to earn a little extra cash but don't want to jump into a brand new career or already have a full-time gig, then listen up.

The website Credit.com recently posted a list of the best part-time jobs that pay well. I have to admit, some of these are not bad ideas.

  1. Uber Driver -- Now that we finally have Uber in Lafayette, hey, not a bad idea. You can make between $15 and $30 an hour. You need a decent car though and will have to pass a background check.
  2. Bartender -- Get you a sweet gig at a hoppin' joint and you could be rollin' in the dough. You can make anywhere between $10 and $75 an hour, depending on the bar.
  3. Babysitter -- When I was a kid, I was lucky if I got $20 for a whole night. Nowadays, sitters rake in $13 to $18 per hour depending who you're babysitting for. If you go through an agency, you usually have to get CPR training and pass a drug test.
  4. Office Professional (Temp) -- They usually make $20 to $30 an hour. But if you're proficient at something like Quickbooks, then you can make even more.
  5. Part-Time Web Designer -- Depending how much experience you have, you can rake in $20 all the way up to about $150 an hour.
  6. Dog Walker -- (No relation) Want to make more? Walk like eight dogs at one time!
  7. Tutor -- The really good ones make up to $200 an hour! I must've been really mediocre. I did this once and made minimum wage. Of course, I was a college freshman at LSUE.
  8. Special Events Worker -- I know a few friends who really enjoy working events. Pay usually averages $12 to $15 an hour.
