Actress and comedienne Anne Meara, who rose to fame as one half of the comedy team Stiller & Meara, has passed away at age 85. No reason for her death has been released yet.

Her husband is Jerry Stiller, whom she was married to for 61 years, while her son is actor Ben Stiller.

The Stiller family released a statement on Sunday in which they described Jerry Stiller as her “husband and partner in life”.

“The two were married for 61 years and worked together almost as long,” the statement said.

The couple performed as Stiller & Meara on "The Ed Sullivan Show" and other programs in the 1960s. The duo won awards for the radio and TV commercials they did together.

Meara also appeared in numerous films and TV shows. She had a long-time role on "All My Children" and recurring roles on "Rhoda", "Sex and the City" and "King of Queens".

She was twice nominated for an Emmy award for her supporting role on "Archie Bunker’s Place," along with three other Emmy nominations, most recently in 1997 for her guest-starring role on "Homicide".

Besides Jerry and Ben, Anne Meara is survived by her daughter Amy and several grandchildren.
