It was just announced that actress Mary Ellen Trainor has passed away at the age of 62. She actually died on May 20th but we're just hearing about it now. No word yet on the cause of death.

While you may not know the name, she was in a bucketload of hit movies in the 80s and 90s.

She was in all four "Lethal Weapon" movies playing the part of Dr. Stephanie Woods, the psychiatrist who was supposed to keep an eye on Mel Gibson's character.

In one of my favorite movies of the 1980s, "The Goonies", she played the mom of Sean Astin and Josh Brolin's characters. She was also Kathleen Turner's sister in "Romancing the Stone".

Her other films included: "Ghostbusters 2", "Back to the Future Part 2", "Forrest Gump", "Death Becomes Her", "Action Jackson", "Congo", "Executive Decision", "The Monster Squad", and "Scrooged".

She was married for 20 years to director Robert Zemeckis. They divorced in 2000 and had one child together, Alex Zemeckis.

A memorial service will be held for Trainor on June 19 in Montecito, California.
