LSU has fired the most successful coach it has ever had.

The Advocate first reported LSU coach Les Miles and Offensive Coordinator Cam Cameron have been fired by the University in the wake of yesterday's loss to Auburn.

Defensive line coach Ed Orgeron will take over as interim coach.

The Tigers were ranked as high as #5 in the preseason but have suffered two disappointing losses, including yesterday's 18-13 loss when LSU threw a touchdown pass on the final play, only to have it overturned as time ran out.

Miles and his staff have been repeatedly criticized for poor clock management during his time in Baton Rouge and that was the case again yesterday.

LSU has confirmed the firing.

Orgeron was 6-2 as the interim coach at USC.  He was 10-25, 3-21 in the SEC as head coach at Ole Miss.

Reports are Pete Jenkins will be hired to coach the defensive line and Steve Ensminger will be the interim offensive coordinator.
