It is no surprise that American Idol has helped quite a few talented, country singers find their way to stardom. The America Idol fans have seemed to love the previous country singers while they were on the competitive show. I can think of several, very famous country singers who started on American Idol.

.) Carrie Underwood– winner of the fourth season of American Idol. We all are very aware that Mrs. Underwood is popular in the Country and Hollywood world. She certainly is a beautiful, talented woman.
.) Kelly Clarkson– the all-time veteran of American Idol; Clarkson won season one. She might have started off with Pop hits, but she has scored with some great country hits, “Don’t You Wanna Stay” with Jason Aldean and “Because of You” with Reba McEntire.
.) Kellie Pickler– Although she did not win season five of American Idol, Pickler landed a record deal in Nashville. Her hit “Red High Heels” jump started her career. Her strong, sassy voice is a pleasure to listen to.
.) Scotty McCreerytenth season winner. McCreery is the first winner who was born in the 1990s. His latest hits “I Love You This Big” and “The Trouble With Girls” have been a success on the country top charts. McCreery is not only a cutie, but a nice, young man.
.) Bucky Covington– Although Bucky placed eighth on the 5th season of American Idol, he has had some pretty popular hits. “A Different World,” “It’s Good to Be Us,” and “I’ll Walk.”
.) Casey James– third place finalist on the ninth season of American Idol. His latest song, “Crying on a Suitcase” has been quite a success.
.) Josh Gracin– former member of the United States Marine Corps, he was fourth place finalist on American Idol’s second season. After the show he completed his service in the Marine Corps then signed a record deal. Some of his most popular hits such as “Stay With Me (Brass Bed),” “We Weren’t Crazy” and “Nothin’ to Lose” are still played on the country radio stations.
.) Lauren Alaina– runner up on tenth season of American Idol, next to winner Scotty McCreery. Lauren Alaina has a strong, passionate voice. One of her top songs “Like My Mother Does” is a beautiful, heartfelt song. The latest song “Georgia Peaches” really jump started the young woman’s career.

So, there you have it! Even though this is not the entire list, you get the general idea. Some of our most popular country singers started off on good ole American Idol. This will list will most likely keep on growing and growing.
