‘Duets,’ the new reality singing competition series starring Sugarland vocalist Jennifer Nettles and semi-country singer Kelly Clarkson, debuts this coming Thursday (May 24) in a two-hour premiere. The premise of the show is that established vocalists will partner with neophytes for –you guessed it- a duet! Rather than be judges or mentors, the celebs are performing alongside the hopefuls. Ahead of the big bow at 8 PM ET, the singing partners of each mentor have been revealed by ABC.
Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert, country’s first couple who celebrated their first wedding anniversary last Monday (May 14), are big animal lovers. They incorporated their pets into their wedding ceremony and according to Shelton in a recent chat and photo spread in In Touch, they’ve rescued “at least 20 dogs, as well as cats and horses.” The irony that the duo lives in a converted hunting lodge in Oklahoma, and the fact that they are avid hunters, is not lost on them, either. However, their dedication to domesticated critters does offer insight into how they will fare with kids.
Want to get drunk and sober up in a matter of moments — no puking, no hangover, no beer goggled hook ups? Turns out you can do just that with an instantly intoxicating spray that mimics the effects of alcohol. It’s short term, though.
It appears that Jake Owen was arrested late Saturday night (May 5.) The singer shared a photo of himself cuffed and next to a cop car just after 11:30PM ET — mere hours after he was tossing back a beer with a buddy, happily and heartily celebrating Cinco de Mayo.
Carrie Underwood was the winner of ‘American Idol‘ way back in Season 4, but she has progressed into a full-blown, legitimate country superstar in the years since she nabbed that crown. It’s pretty much a footnote of her career at this point. But that didn’t stop the ‘Good Girl’ from returning to her former stomping grounds to perform on Thursday night, especially since her new album ‘Blown Away’ dropped earlier this week.
A replica of the Titanic is being built, complete with modern technology so that history doesn’t repeat itself. An Australian billionaire is paying a Chinese shipyard to recreate the famed, doomed ship for the modern era.
