National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for Baton Rouge.

The Mississippi River at Baton Rouge was 31.3 feet on Monday afternoon, or only about 3.7 feet below official flood stage, according to the weather service. The National Weather Service expects the Mississippi River to reach flood stage by as early as this Sunday, and potentially 44 feet by January 19.
