In celebration of "Earth Day", Best Buy on Ambassador Caffery wants to trade you cold hard cash for your old, but working electronics. What does this have to do with "Earth Day"? Best Buy will recycle your old electronics.

See, it's not good to just toss your old laptops, iPods or tablets into the trash. Those items take up a lot of space in local landfills. Best Buy will buy your old electronics, take what they can use from them to make new electronics, then properly recycle what's left.

From KATC -

"We do about 300,000 lbs of recycling a day as a company", says Lafayette General Manager Daniel Sinitiere.
Best Buy's recycling program has been a "win-win" for the company. They accept almost all electronics and large appliances at no charge, and last year took in almost 100 million pounds of electronics. Electronics that can be stripped and pulled to make the next best thing. "We get items that are 10, 15, 20 years old. At some point, electronics expire. And it's becoming harder and harder to dispose of them. Obviously, with the attention towards the environment and preserving the environment, that stuff really needs to be handled in a better manner", says Sinitiere.

Through April, Best buy is offering a minimum of $20 for any working electronic device. Best Buy accepts three household items per household, per day.
