Select southern cities are getting  Blue Bell Ice Cream back on the shelves at the end of August - August 31 to be exact. Houston, Brenham, and Austin are a few of the cities that will receive the first shipment of Blue Bell, after it has been off the shelves for months due to listeria being found at one of the distribution plants. The limited selection will be shipped to cities from the Alabama facility in Phase one of redistribution.

According to ABC13 in Houston, the rest of the 'Phase In' for ice cream is as follows:

Phase Two: North central Texas and southern Oklahoma
Phase Three: Southwest Texas and central Oklahoma
Phase Four: The majority of Texas and southern Louisiana.
Phase Five: Complete the states of Alabama, Oklahoma and Texas and begin distribution in Arkansas, Florida, northern Louisiana and Mississippi. This phase will also include only parts of the following states: Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, New Mexico, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.

No dates have been set for phases 2-5 yet, which means we will have to cross our fingers for it to be as soon as possible here in Acadiana, as we are scheduled for Phase 4. Or you might just have to take a spin over to Texas for a taste of your favorite flavor. (That would be Nutty Coconut for me!)
