Acadiana's own Buckwheat Zydeco will perform on "Willie Nelson: The Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song' on PBS tonight, January 15. Buckwheat joins Edie Brickell, Leon Bridges, Rosanne Cash, Ana Gabriel, Jamey Johnson, Alison Krauss, Raul Malo of The Mavericks, Neil Young, Promise of the Real, and past recipient Paul Simon in tribute to Willie Nelson, who is also a beloved member of the Country Music Hall of Fame.

The Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song is named in honor of the legendary songwriters George and Ira Gershwin, and recognizes the huge effect of popular music on the world's culture. Past winners include Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, Burt Bacharach and Hal David, and Carole King.

The tribute will air January 15 at 8:00 PM CST, and will be made available to our men and women in uniform overseas on the Armed Forces Network at a later date.
