Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun football team returns to the gridiron on Saturday evening, when coach Mark Hudspeth’s squad plays host to the Georgia St. Panthers, in their 2014 Sun Belt Conference opener.

The Cajun Harley Davidson Tailgate begins at 4 pm on ESPN 1420 and espn1420.com, with the rest of the network, including Hot 107.9 and 1079ishot.com joining the broadcast in time for the Hampton Toyota Pregame Show, which will begin at 5 o'clock

Kickoff is set for 6 o’clock.

This will mark the first time that Georgia St. has ever appeared at Cajun Field.

Louisiana, who was idle last week, fell to Boise St., 34-9, back on September 20, to drop to on the season, while Georgia St., who was also idle last week, lost to Washington, 45-14, back on September 20, and will come in with an overall record of 1-3.

Offensively, the Cajuns are averaging 22.3 points, 372.5 yards, 201.0 passing yards, and 171.5 rushing yards per game, while the Panthers are averaging 30.2 points, 456.8 total yards, 331.5 passing yards, and 125.2 rushing yards a contest.

Defensively, Louisiana is allowing 36.0 points, 466.3 total yards, 197.8 rushing yards, and 268.5 passing yards per game, while Georgia St. is giving up an average of 41.0 points, 452.0 yards of total offense, 196.5 rushing yards, and 255.5 passing yards an outing.

The Cajuns are led by senior quarterback Terrance Broadway, who has thrown for 676 yards and four touchdowns, along with sophomore running back Elijah McGuire, who has 241 rushing yards and two touchdowns, and senior receiver Jamal Robinson, who has seven catches for 141 yards and two touchdowns, and who is expected to return from a leg injury and play on Saturday night.

The Panthers are paced by junior quarterback Nick Arbuckle, who has thrown for 1,315 yards and five touchdowns, along with sophomore running back Kyler Neal, who has 209 rushing yards and one touchdown, and senior receiver Lynquez Blair, who has accumulated 254 receiving yards, including three touchdowns, on 19 catches.

The game marks the first of three of the next four that UL will play at home to begin their conference slate.
