Calcasieu Teen Dies After Falling From Roof Of SUV

A Moss Bluff teenager is dead following a senseless tragedy. Kaleb Franks, a 16 year old student at Sam Houston High School in Lake Charles succumbed to injuries he sustained when he fell from the roof of moving SUV.

According to reports Franks and another teenager were sitting on the roof of the vehicle with their legs hanging in the sunroof. The driver of the car made an abrupt move causing Franks to lose his balance and fall off of the vehicle. He suffered serious head injuries.

The driver of the SUV did not have a valid driver's license and the vehicle was registered to the parents of one of the boys that was involved. Standard toxicology tests were done and no charges have been filed at this time. A spokesman for the Calcasieu Parish Sheriffs office indicated that the incident was simply an accident and a horrible tragedy brought on by teens just goofing around.
