Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball pitcher Christina Hamilton has been recognized as the top female athlete in the state of Louisiana, winning the prestigious James J. Corbett Award presented by the Allstate Sugar Bowl.

Hamilton is coming off the heels of an All-American junior season. The Sun Belt Conference pitcher of the year sported a record of 29-2 with a 1.53 ERA.

Recognized by her trademark lens-less glasses, Hamilton served as the number one ace for the Cajuns last season, helping propel the squad to the Women's College World Series.

LSU freshmen running back Leonard Fournette was presented the award for top male athlete after he wrapped up an incredible senior season at St. Augustine high school.
