What are you talking about Brad?  Orangutan's don't smoke cigarettes!  Well darn, that is what I thought too, until I saw this.  My question was: How in the world can a "zoo pet" get a pack of cigarettes in the first place?  It seems that wonderful visitors of the zoo decided to share with the animal.

Just a few weeks before that Shirley, the Malaysian orangutan," was taken from another zoo down the road because the living conditions were poor.  Really, I'm pretty sure smoking cigarettes for zoo animals is normal!

According to Ahmad, the Director of the Zoo's interview with The Associated Press. "I would say she is not addicted ... but she might have formed a habit after mimicking human beings who were smoking around her."

The Nature Alert Group who was watching Shirley said she had similar symptoms of a human withdrawal from nicotine.

This is just crazy.  Poor Shirley!

Way to be smart, people giving the cigarettes.
