Tuesday, we brought you the warning Youngsville issued to parents in the immediate area, and Acadiana about an attempted child abduction. A male suspect allegedly approached a six-year-old girl in the Copper Meadows subdivision, asking the child to get into his vehicle.

Jamey Abshire, Copper Meadows Homeowners Association President tells KATC -

"At any point or time you can come out to the park and there's 10 to 15 families out there, all conversing and playing with their children and socializing."

"It made us aware that things like this can happen to us, no matter how safe we think our community is," said Abshire.

"We've actually sent out an email to our residents to see if anybody had any kind of surveillance cameras on their homes to please check them for any leads,"

"We request the residents in that area to be on the look out for vehicles you don't recognize," said Lieutenant Marc LeBlanc with the Youngsville Police Department. "Any behavior that would send up a red flag as suspicious, they should report it."

If you have any information about this case, please contact the Youngsville Police Department at 337-856-5931.
