It's the stereotype we men have probably earned through the years. The picture of the frazzled male shopper with a can of bean dip, an electric carving knife, a toaster oven and a couple of snuggies in his basket. It is late on Christmas Eve and the stores are about to close. This year the last minute shopper will more than likely be male, but he will have a lot of company in the mall as savvy shoppers push the limit on waiting for the deepest discounts.

With Christmas falling on a Saturday this year, Friday is a holiday for most U.S. workers. That lets shoppers hit the stores first thing in the morning.

Expect the traffic to be heavy from early until late around the shopping areas and expect the lines to be long too. Now what was that promise you made last year about doing this in September?
