We have come to know The Simpsons in many ways. One of the very few ways that we know them is who they are in real life.

The ensemble of actors that has given voice to Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and the entire town of Springfield is mourning the loss of one of their own. Allegedly.

Marcia Wallace who people of my age will remember as Carol Kester on the Bob Newhart Show has reportedly died. She would be 70, in fact she might still be 70. Fans of the Simpsons will best know Marcia for her work as Edna Krabappel. The over worked under love teacher who did her best to keep Bart Simpson in line. Wallace won a prime time Emmy Award for her work in the role of Krabappel in 1992.

News of her passing was tweeted by Frank Decaro. However a quick search of the Internets usually reliable celebrity news sources does not confirm the story. This leads me to wonder if we should be mourning the passing of Ms Wallace or the passing of Mrs. Krabappel. It has been rumored that one of The Simpsons characters would die during the course of the next few seasons.
