It's a struggle so many of us have with our iPhones -- low storage space!

I know I am seemingly always having to delete pictures, videos, texts and the like to create space for all my son's apps to keep him occupied on road trips.

There's an easy and quick way to free up storage space on your iPhone that a lot of people do not know about.

Grab your phone and follow along.

  • First, see how much space you have available: Go to "Settings", "General" and then "Storage & iCloud Usage".
  • Now go to the iTunes store and pick a long HD movie that would be a bigger size than you have available storage.
  • Hit "Rent" two times. You'll receive a message saying there isn't enough storage available.
  • Return to your settings. You should now have more storage.

You can repeat the process again and you may get even more storage.

There is a small catch. You don't want to get stuck renting a movie you don't really want to watch. Make sure not to rent the movie if you actually have enough space available!

Why does this work? Your iPhone is clearing out the caches and other data from apps to make room.

You're welcome.
