Update: Torso Possible I.D. [Video]
Authorities in Mississippi do not have positive DNA identification but they have enough corroborating evidence to make a subjective identification on the torso that was found on a beach near Bay St Louis Mississippi.
Based upon body markings, piercings and other indicators authorities in Hancock County Mississippi believe the identity of the victim is that of a 22 year old female from the New Orleans area. In a report from WLOX TV in Biloxi the victim has been identified as 22 year Jaren Lockhart of New Orleans. Lockhart was last seen on Tuesday leaving her boyfriend's home.
Officials believe it is possible that Lockhart's body could have drifted from the New Orleans are to Bay St. Louis with the current of the tide. Officials in Lafayette have been following the case closely since the victims age and gender were very closely matched to that of Mickey Shunick a U.L. student who went missing on May 19. The search for Shunick continues and hopes remain high that she will be found and returned home safely.
