Let’s admit it…waiting for this flood is worse than waiting for a hurricane. As I was driving down I-10 over the weekend, I noticed something very, very important-all the “Watch out for wildlife” signs. The animals will be looking for higher ground as the water gets higher, so take heed. As hard as this is to believe, I actually saw a live alligator on I-10 on Saturday-a first for me. Be careful, ya’ll…our prayers are with everyone in the flood zone.

It’s been 38 years since the Morganza spillway has been opened to ease the threat of flooding from the Mississippi River.
The years have not erased the memories of the men and women who ventured into the region then.
