Sometimes disasters bring out the best in us, and sometimes the very worst comes out. Scores of Twitter users have flooded the social networking site announcing their plans to go on looting sprees once Hurricane Sandy made landfall, and the New York National Guard announced it would put troops on duty in Long Island to prevent such activity.

We all saw what happened after Hurricane Katrina when looters were videotaped stealing thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from flooded stores in New Orleans, but this organized planning makes that look like amateur hour. Despicable, absolutely despicable.

Let's keep a good thought for our friends and neighbors in the northeast who are not nearly as used to hurricanes as we are. God Bless!
