Robichaux retired the first seven batters he faced before Ali Knowles singled with one out in the third. Then, with two out, Tyler Vaughn singled and Logan Pierce doubled to right center to make the score 3-2. It was the only extra base hit for the Trojans (20-9. 6-5), who tallied nine in Friday’s 7-6 loss.
The game stayed 3-2 until the fifth whe, with two out, Caleb Adams doubled, the first of his three hits. Strentz was hit by a pitch and Chase Compton walked before Harrison blasted his second homer of the game to break it open, 7-2. The Cajuns got insurance runs on Harrison’s infield hit in the seventh and Ryan Leonards’ RBI double in the eighth.
Robichaux walked two, hit three batters and struck out eight in posting the Cajuns’ second complete game of the season.
The 14 hit attack marked the 17th time in 30 games that the Cajuns have reached double figures in hits.
