Sad news to report for an iconic country singer as Holly Dunn has announced that she has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

She is currently undergoing chemotherapy in New Mexico, where she currently resides.

Of course, fans know Holly best for her hits like "Daddy's Hands", "Are You Ever Gonna Love Me" and "You Really Had Me Going".

In a recent interview about her diagnosis, Dunn maintained a hopeful attitude even though she said the statistics regarding her particular form of cancer offer a bleak outcome:

I was diagnosed with a rare, very aggressive form of ovarian cancer. If you read the statistics, it is very bleak. Good thing I don’t believe in statistics! I had surgery and now I am having chemo treatments. I have since grown more tumors and it is going to be more of a battle than I anticipated.

During this difficult battle, Dunn says there are two things that give her strength: her faith and family.

I have a huge faith in the healing power of God and the healing power within me that originates from my God. But I also draw tremendous strength from my family and my family of friends who have gathered around me in total support.

Dunn is asking fans to pray for her to have strength and courage during this long journey she has ahead of her.
