As 13-year-old Derrick Jenkins lined up at the free throw line during his middle school basketball game, he had no idea his Mother, who had been serving in Kuwait for the past 8 months, was standing directly behind him. As he missed his second free throw, he heard a familiar voice say from right behind him "Aw, that's alright Derrick". That's when things became incredibly awesome. His reaction at seeing her will bring tears to your eyes.

Having arranged for a fake technical foul to put Jenkins at the line, coaches escorted his mother, Lt. Col. Cotina Jenkins-Sellers, onto the court.

Normally, a kid might be a little upset about missing 2 free throws... but something tells me that was the farthest thing from Derrick's mind.
