Louisiana's sex trafficking problem has been in the news a lot lately. It's a problem we absolutely need to make sure goes away in Louisiana, and all over the world. There are many rumors circling about white dots on the windshield's of people's vehicle being a sign for sex trafficking. One Louisiana Sheriff says "Not so fast".

Fox8live.com reports Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre says this is a rumor, and it is not true. Webre tells Fox 8 that "there is no intelligence or evidence behind the rumor, and that the white sticker is a common practice used by car dealerships."

So, what is the white dot sticker about then?

Webre says that a Lafourche area auto dealer uses the white stickers to indicate which vehicles have been photographed for the dealer's website.

"While we have found the source of this rumor, we are not suggesting anyone let your guard down. All citizens would be wise to be cautious and aware of your surroundings at all times, especially when you are with your family, and especially during the holiday shopping season ahead."

Auto dealers all over Louisiana use similar methods, so be careful about these rumors floating around social media and the internet.
