Now we know why Janet Jackson cancelled her Unbreakable World Tour, which was scheduled to come to the Cajundome in Lafayette this spring.

The pop star is pregnant with her first child and she's less than two weeks from her 50th birthday. You go girl!

“We’re in the second leg of the tour, and there actually has been a sudden change. I thought it was important that you be the first to know,” she told Entertainment Tonight cameras, before taking a deep breath and breaking into a grin. “My husband and I are planning our family! So I’m gonna have to delay the tour.”

Jackson married 41-year-old Qatari billionaire Wissam Al Mana, a fashion retailer, in 2012.

Will she come back to Lafayette and play? She responded to that question last month.

“Please, if you could try and understand that it’s important that I do this now,” Jackson asked of her fans in an April video. “I have to rest up, doctor’s orders. But I have not forgotten about you. I will continue the tour as soon as I possibly can.”

Congrats "Lil Penny"!
